How to Use Meow OCR

Step 1 — Upload Your File
Click inside the upload box (or drag & drop) to choose your file. Meow OCR supports PDFs, scanned images (JPG, PNG, BMP, TIFF), documents (DOCX, PPTX, RTF, ODT) and data files (XLSX, CSV, XML, JSON). Large files are processed in batches, so even big documents convert without crashing.
Step 2 — Choose Options
Pick the document's language (or leave it on Auto-Detect for 19+ languages). Optionally select a page range if you only need part of a PDF, and set your preferred auto-delete time for total privacy.
Step 3 — Download Your Text
Hit Extract Text and you'll be taken to a live progress page. When done, grab your editable .txt file from My Downloads. You can also share a secure link.
Auto-Detect is convenient, but it must scan your file to guess the language before it can start — adding extra seconds to every conversion. Select your language manually on the upload page to skip the scan and get your text noticeably faster.
